Makeup Artist? Who Me? Sure! Why Not!?

I love makeup, and I have always loved makeup. My mother always told me that I wore too much makeup and dyed my hair too many different colors. Even though those days are long gone, I am still just as much of an artist as I have always been. I see things in extreme detail and I am somewhat of a perfectionist. I can mix any color from the primary colors, I can mix any foundation color to match a skin perfectly, I have the innate ability to be very light-handed and build my art from the bare canvas up. I also have a very steady hand and artistic eye. I feel that I have the exact makings that a great makeup artist should have...so why not me?

Lately I have been doing most of the makeup for my own photoshoots. I feel that being able to do the makeup and then see how each and every product translates onto the images gives me a huge advantage. I will know immediately if a product works for me or does not. Not all makeup artists get to see their work un-retouched, so not many really know if the makeup that they do translates as well onto camera as it looks in person. A great advantage for being a photographer that can do makeup is that I will never be without a makeup artist and I can always be there for my photography friends if they may need an artist for a shoot as well.

I by no means want to isolate myself from working with a team but I love having my hand in all the things that bring a photoshoot together...why? because I love photography...I love art...I love creating.

I did the photography and makeup in ALL of the images below.

Liliana,

One of my first blog posts was about my daughter, Liliana, and we just had a baby photoshoot the other day so I thought I would post what we came up with! I am going to venture into Children's Photography as well as keep on creating images for my portfolio.

Lili was not an easy little girl to shoot. The whole shoot lasted around 30 minutes because she would not cooperate. But for not cooperating, I managed to get some beautifiul shots of my little princess!!

Here they are!!

Doesn't she look like she should be a baby model for Gap Kids or something??!!

precious princess!
beautiful angel!
I love her so much!
She has so much personality!

She had to take a call in the middle of the shoot.
Did I mention that she's a really big deal?
This is my baby in all her active glory!!

Sarah...again and fabulous!!

This time we shot some super cool images that we are both proud of. I love working with Sarah. She is fun, quirky, cool, and such a funny girl!! She will be a top model some day, I can feel it!! Sarah moves and poses so effortlessly. She really let's her natural beauty shine through! Hopefully we will work together on more projects!

I also did the makeup for these shots of Sarah!

Luciana...

Luciana is one of the most classically beautiful girls that I have worked with. She is just so natural looking and such a natural model. I could not say enough about this girl. She is so down to earth, humorous, and intelligent. It was such a pleasure to have the chance to hangout with her and to shoot.

I am doing a lot of makeup lately and I couldn't be more excited about it!

I did the hair and makeup for these looks of Luciana!

Brittany and Eve...

I have not been posting lately but I have been shooting!! I have had the opportunities to work with some of the most beautiful girls!

Recently, I shot with, agency models, Brittany and Eve.

These girls could not be more gorgeous or more pleasant. They are the nicest individuals and are so easy to work with. Here are some of the shots that we got...

I did the makeup for these models as well. :)
